I’m really excited about playing a KOTOR game since I haven’t played one before, and the Star Wars buzz is intense. The sale price of $3 makes me curious—should I try it out before the first one drops?

The developers of KOTOR 2 hadn't played through KOTOR 1 during the early planning stage. You should be okay. Be sure to explore the mods that improve the experience. The game was released quickly, leading to a somewhat unclear ending.

KoToR Is great, but SWTOR Is better, It's a free 2 play MMO by the people who made KoToR. There are 8 classes each with their totally Individual story and the best voice acting compared to any other MMO.

That’s all, you don’t need to get into the MMO side of things. It’s completely single-player focused, and the story is really strong. If you’re into Star Wars, you’ll definitely enjoy SHTOR.
