Hi. You're using a Mac-keyboard with English (UK) layout set as your text entry in Ubuntu. Your Xmodmap script runs at boot to adjust swap controls for shortcuts. To keep the script working, you disabled the gnome daemon settings for the keyboard. Now you can't change the language or language layout on that keyboard. You need a method to switch languages without using space or ALT combinations. Since you rely on macros for Norwegian characters and specific key sequences, consider setting up custom keybindings or using a script that detects your locale and applies the appropriate settings automatically. This would let you type in Norwegian directly and trigger the needed shortcuts instantly.

Thought Xmodmap is out of favor, replaced by xkb. Followed a tutorial from askubuntu.com/questions/891312/xmodmap-keymap-on-bluetooth-keyboard to switch keybindings. Needed to turn on org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.keyboard again so I could adjust the input language. Changed the language to English (UK, Macintosh) and it removed the dead keys. Great!
