Hey there! I see you're gearing up for a PC build and have some tech questions. The issue is that your system doesn’t have an optical drive, so you’re looking for a bootable USB with Windows 7 SP1. You tried Microsoft’s recovery site but got a warning about OEM support. You also downloaded a separate ISO and burned it to a USB drive. Your main concern is whether an OEM product key can activate the version you downloaded from a USB boot key. Let me know if you need more clarity!

Yes, it should function. Could you provide the SHA1 hash for the ISO? The Microsoft Software Recovery isn't helpful in this situation—it only requires retail keys, not MSDN or dreamspark ones.

I don’t have the USB drive to verify, but I used the Windows USB/DVD Tool to create a bootable drive, so it should have completed the process.

You only need to save the ISO file from Google. Copy it onto a USB drive using Rufus without entering any installation keys. Once you're in Windows, navigate to settings and adjust the key settings before inserting the USB.

Reject the previous version. Begin fresh. Format the USB using FAT32 and adhere to your guidance.
