Since chapter 5 in Fortnite, I've been dealing with a frustrating problem. My GTX 1650 runs smoothly at around 120-144 FPS, but suddenly my performance drops drastically to just 10 or even 15 FPS. The game freezes for about two seconds, making it really annoying. I've tried all the possible optimizations—changing user settings, reinstalling from HDD to SSD, updating GPU drivers, and using an NVIDIA profile—but nothing helped. My other PC games are fine. Fortnite OG was also perfect before; I haven’t had any freezing issues. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know. Thanks.
look for issues with the hard drive, even if you're not using the games directly. A faulty hdd can slow down your whole system or cause the stutters you mentioned (I experienced this myself and it took about three months to resolve).
