I had to swap out a dead motherboard, so I thought about upgrading my whole setup. For x99 and 6800k, I went with z370 and 8700k. Now my Windows isn’t working anymore. I understand it’s because the old key was linked to my previous board. My question is: when I go back to Kinguin to get a new key, do I really need to reinstall Windows, or can I just enter the new key when prompted? I’m not very confident on the software side and not sure if I’m clearly explaining it. Basically, based on what you said, how should I react now to activate Windows?

The new key functions properly without needing a reinstall. If you lack the appropriate Windows version, it will inform you.

This information comes from the seller's shop in Kinguin. It might be confusing at first, but it explains details about your purchase or inquiry. Let me clarify what it means for you.

This error indicates the process isn't suitable for upgrading Windows from version 7 to 10, specifically mentioning that it doesn't apply to actual hardware components.
