I experienced a power interruption and my workstation shut down unexpectedly. When I turned it back on, the machine started functioning normally—no blue screen, just a hard crash. After rebooting, the issue repeated. I checked the viewer, which reported numerous kernel errors and critical warnings. It might have been a PSU problem, but the same workload performed flawlessly on Windows 7 on the same system. I restored a recent backup of the drive, and everything functioned perfectly afterward. What a surprise from Microsoft!

It could happen if the PC is shut down incorrectly, causing file corruption and preventing error correction from working. Using DISM might have resolved it, but that’s not guaranteed.
