Keeping Processor Overclocked?
Hi everyone! I just overclocked my i7-7700k with thermal paste and the Corsair H115 Pro AIO cooler. My temps dropped from mid-90s to around 65°C at 4.8GHz. It’s a big improvement, but I’m curious—can I keep running at 4.8GHz all the time, or should I go back to 4.2 for safety?
Under normal conditions, a suitable voltage and temperature ensure the clock speed remains secure.
It makes sense. I was just setting the voltage to auto since I wasn't sure what a suitable setting would be. I might experiment a bit more to find better results. Appreciate your fast response!
Setting the voltage for such a high value like 4.8 would be excessive. It’s best to adjust it manually to lower the output.
You're looking to adjust the vcore. Make sure you also consider other settings like power management, thermal controls, and system stability parameters.
Sure, I can help with that. Just let me know what you need rewritten!
