Hi, your new 7900XTX should arrive tomorrow. You’re using RX 7900 XTX TUF and are aiming for smoother gameplay with the recent FPS drops. Would upgrading the CPU to 5800X3D help you capture more frames? Or would a simpler 7800X3D work just fine, possibly requiring a new motherboard, RAM, and cooler? The cost in the UK can be high, so it’s worth checking prices. You’re currently running 1440p “competitive” settings and hoping to hit over 200fps again. Your system is dual-booted but mostly used for learning VMs now and then. Let me know if you need more details!

IMVHO: Don't rush. Spend some time getting comfortable with your new GPU before thinking about upgrading further. The 7900 XTX might hit its limits with your PSU, so be patient.

Keep it. You already possess it; with the cached titles you won't notice significant gains—just minor improvements around 1% and .1%. If you're particularly sensitive to stuttering, it might matter, but for most people it won't be noticeable. @freeagent Apologies for the lag, but if you wish, you can back me up on 5900X here.

I favor the tuned 5900X in my preferred setup. I play at 4K/60, and I’m thinking about moving my kid from the 5600X to the 58X3D.

5800x3D works best for players using the 2000/3000 series; for those on the 5000 series, it’s more of a minor feature in many games that gain from it, and possibly less useful in others. I’d suggest holding off until it can handle your needs fully.

imo, nah, not worth it, you upgrade way too often for my tastes - but if money is of no concern, then why not??? also have the lingering feeling its maybe not your hardware.... too much tinkering can lower performance too. (dual boot, eh, uh-oh...)

Warzone continues to lose frames each time it updates. Regarding dual booting, you're referring to using two drives—one with an optimized OS for gaming and another with a standard daily OS. You didn’t expect them to clash.

What rate are you aiming for? I'm not sure why you think it doesn't matter, but dual-booting is tough on Windows. You could give it a shot—what prevents you from swapping drives and bootloaders?
