Some apps for Flatpak or Snap come from the original developers, while others don’t. Using KDE means you’re likely using Discover, so clicking a package should show a verification badge next to the developer if they’re confirmed to maintain it. Most packages across both systems are reviewed, but Canonical’s Snap Store has had reports of malicious files being distributed. As far as I understand, Flathub hasn’t accepted any yet, though it’s possible it could still happen.

The repository is functioning properly and displayed an update for Chrome a few days back. I configured my system to auto-update daily, and the update was applied successfully over time. This approach appears to be working well. Thanks to everyone for your assistance.

I observed that "spectacle" (the snipping tool) also triggers the same action and displays an additional icon. Given it's already included in my distribution, I think there isn't a reliable method to bypass this without causing other problems. This remains on MX Linux 25 KDE.
