Just starting out with building... unsure which 3950x RAM to pick!
Hey everyone, just wanted to share some thoughts. As the title suggests, I'm brand new at building things from scratch—no prior experience with full setups. I've swapped out PSU, GPU, RAM... but never tackled a complete project before. Still, I'm putting together a parts list for a future-proof build. I need something that handles both gaming and work, which is why I'm going for high RAM and a 3950X. The list is attached: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X, 16-core processor, Corsair H115i RGB, Platinum 97 CFM cooler, Samsung 970 Evo SSD, Seagate Barracuda 2TB drive, GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, and G.Skill Trident Z Neo RAM.
For the motherboard, I'm leaning toward options like the Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (Wi-Fi) ATX AM4 or a Gigabyte X570 AORUS PRO WIFI ATX AM4. I want something user-friendly, with simple BIOS and good Wi-Fi support—something that's solid for someone just starting out but still reliable for my needs.
