Hello, internet. I'm trying to set up a self-hosted Java Minecraft server with the deceased craft mod and shaders. I understand shaders are client-side, but I'm having trouble because when I use Minecraft Forge and create a Java server, the mod doesn't work properly. The videos show mods as JAR files, but when I extract them, they don't apply. Anyone have ideas about MineOS or Crafty Control that could fix this? Thanks, Foure.

You put the mod in the mods folder as a jar file—makes sense, right? But honestly, I’m not sure the server logs are even catching anything. “Not applying” could mean a bunch of things, but so far it’s silent. Just hope it actually works for you!

For close contacts, applying isn't necessary. It won't affect the output when I add a file and clear the world save, then restart the server.

Check if Forge is actually active on your server with clear log output. Verify the mod matches your Minecraft version in the installation logs. Ensure the mod appears in the log file when it loads, and test with another mod to rule out compatibility issues. Confirm your server account has proper read and execute permissions for the mod directory and files.

Adding to @manikyath's note... Is the mod supported by both Minecraft and Forge versions you're using? Are you running the most recent Java installation? Does the mod need configuration files, and do they include the correct setup? Looking back, does your server function without any mods? If it doesn't work as a standard server, address that first before adding mods. Without more details, we can't give precise guidance. We'd need to examine your launch script and server console logs to understand your setup. Side note: I suggest using a server management tool like Pterodactyl or CubeCoders AMP. They simplify launching and managing Minecraft, Valheim, Ark, etc. servers. You're free to choose if you're comfortable or want to learn the process yourself.

Yes, the start.sh file was supplied by your forge installer. Yes, forge is operating on my server. No, the mod isn't compatible with the version I'm attempting to use (thanks). No, then it doesn't appear in the log file. I haven't attempted a different mod. I don't believe the mod lacks dependencies. Yes, the admin account has read, write, and execute access to all files.
