Hi, I am trying to make an audio CD, but every time I try it, I get a blank disc when I play it back. Even though all my software says everything is burning right, there are no tracks or marks on the actual disc. I changed drivers and reinstalled programs, used different discs and files like MP3s and FLACs, tried fast and slow speeds even with x4 speed, but nothing works. My computer drive is actually fine because it can make CDs work normally in my other drives too. I only have blank CD-Rs to use. When I burn the disc, there is a loud clicking sound while Nero says it is burning each track one by one. It seems like the machine thinks it is working even though nothing happens on the disc itself.

Use a different brand, and try setting the burn speed to something slower.

Usually, this problem happens when the disk drive itself isn't working right, OR when your specific CD/DVD doesn't match what the burner expects. Can it actually write discs on another PC? What if you try burning a totally different type of disc?

I have a CD drive that looks like an LG DVDRW 24X SATA. It can write and read CDs and CD-Rs. I used it very little before now, so is it possible the drive is broken? I'll try it on another computer tomorrow, but right now, Daemon tools says "burn finished" while checking if everything matches up. The progress is stuck at 0%. Do you know what that process means? Should I just wait? It's been an hour and it's still at 0%. EDIT: After a few minutes, the verification failed because of some error. I have a full report showing why, but it doesn't actually tell me if the drive is broken or not. Is there another reason other than a bad drive? The CD drive was barely used and isn't very old (2-3 years). Also, the empty CD-Rs were brand new and made in 2021 by Silverline, which makes them about 700MB each.

Check out this CD burner XP program. It is completely free and very simple to learn how to use.

Pick a different kind of disk and make sure the burn is slow.

Even if you buy a modern CD from a store, it probably comes with digital rights management that stops you from copying or sharing the music easily.
