As the adrenaline fades from this upgrade, consider a high refresh rate monitor that you’ll enjoy. Its lower input lag compared to TVs makes a big difference. High refresh rates are a game changer—consoles usually stick to 30Hz at best. In the PC version you can use a combination, but not on consoles since they don’t have enough FPS for it.

That's a bit disappointing. If you purchased the 2080 ti, I'd consider exchanging it. A 3070 model is available at a reduced cost and would arrive sooner.

Based on your setup, it seems you have a solid budget. I’d consider a 144Hz monitor such as the LG27GL850-B. Its high refresh rate, smooth performance, and minimal input delay will surpass even the best visual graphics improvements. Once you’ve tried 144Hz, you’ll never want to go back.

Really, I don’t have any cash. I managed to use some saved funds along with a large refund check to help. It should take me several months to accumulate enough for the 3080.

It's clear that switching to a better monitor will offer far greater value than moving from 2080Ti to 3080.

I understand your perspective. For a gamer focused on single-player experiences, 40-60 frames per second usually suffices and provides a smooth feel. Immersive content can enhance the value of that frame rate.

I mainly enjoy solo or slower-paced games such as RPGs and strategy titles. I'm also all about eye-catching visuals and plan to upgrade to RTX whenever my 3080 arrives. Still, I don't want to compromise on high refresh rates in any game. In short, this should significantly boost immersion.

I understand what you're planning once your SSD is upgraded and you've saved for the 3080. Your next aim should be a monitor with a high refresh rate.
