Where you were forced?
How did you improve? The problems might stem from not doing things properly; a fresh install usually works.
If the problem lies with outdated or faulty drivers, or hardware nearing end-of-life, Linux won’t automatically fix it.
You can try installing Bazzite for AMD GPUs on NVIDIA systems—it may encounter issues, but it’s pre-installed via Steam and should run smoothly if you download games to a Linux partition.
If you’re comfortable booting from a USB drive, you can install Bazzite (or other Linux apps) safely. Just remember to back up important data beforehand.
If your work requires specific software, using Chrome is fine. For specialized tools, ensure they are compatible with Linux.

Choosing an upgrade instead of a complete reset might seem like a good idea, but it could actually cause issues. I understand wanting to skip reconfiguring and reinstalling, yet for a reliable system a fresh installation is necessary.

Before switching to a fresh Windows version, it’s important to install the latest motherboard BIOS, firmware, and drivers. After that, proceed with updating to the new operating system. Many issues I encounter stem from bugs in non-Microsoft components, such as BIOS and third-party drivers. Microsoft tends to be careful when introducing new features like low-power modes; they often delay enabling them by a year or two to allow users time to update their hardware. Usually, people only act if they experience problems. Even then, hardware manufacturers usually prefer customers upgrade after three years. I wouldn’t recommend Linux for gaming due to the numerous challenges involved. Instead, I’d settle for enduring the troubles and attempting to resolve my Windows 11 setup.

No concerns about the previous updates.
Additional details are required for a complete overview.
Please revise your post with full hardware specifications, operating system details, and power supply information.
Specify the disk drive(s): brand, model, capacity, and current usage status.
Mention network type: wired or wireless.
Describe the issues in more depth—nature, frequency, any pop-ups or warnings.
Refer to Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer for error logs and events around the time of problems.
The goal is to understand what Windows is displaying and possibly find solutions.
If needed, a fresh Windows 11 installation (as suggested by @ubuysa) would be recommended.

A clean Windows 11 setup functions optimally in most cases. Ensure your motherboard drivers and chipset drivers are installed. Apply all necessary Windows 11 updates before adding applications or games. This approach has proven effective for PC builds over 35 years. Just a suggestion. All the best.

Ensure your drives are configured properly for the OS. Be aware that Windows 11 may have problems. No system is flawless.
