I've decided to stop playing Elite Dangerous.
I stopped playing about a year ago. I tried again, but everything feels so confusing. I just spent half an hour searching for the default keybind on the System Scanner. Every answer says to rebind it, but nothing tells me where or how. I want to play a game, not waste hours figuring out where basic keys go and scrolling through endless searches. The controls for anything else besides flying are terrible. I’m relieved I didn’t waste time trying to fix an old joystick and throw it away. This might be the first time I’ve deleted a game from Steam, but it was frustrating and boring. >_>
I understand, but using a poor third-party launcher isn't helpful. If you're familiar with tricky, flight-sim-style controls and have a complete hotas setup, it can be quite enjoyable.
xplane and MS/FS 2020 are now merged together. However, it seems some games can be challenging to access, possibly due to clustered designs or live service updates that shift controls in unexpected ways. The experience varies depending on how you navigate—whether you prefer walking, flying, shooting, etc. If you struggle to find what suits you best, it might become more frustrating than beneficial.
You're just beginning to use your Switch Pro controller, and the keybindings are proving to be challenging.
I attempted to download it yesterday in an effort to explain the number of ships I had on my account. It’s been a while since I played, mostly because solo mode didn’t let me play all ships. I’ve switched back to my favorite games: X2 - The Threat and X3 Terran Conflict.
