I've been fixing issues with my internet connection for a whole month.
I haven't performed any troubleshooting yet. Could you share more details about what you're working on?
OP, this is very important. Cable internet (which is coax, and shares bandwidth with all your neighbors TV’s) can really take a hard hit when everyone comes home and turns their TV’s on. I have spectrum cable internet and don’t have this issue, but friends who don’t live far away with Cox cable internet have this exact same issue.
Comcast has conducted tests in certain areas and successfully achieved gigabit uploads. Now they are rolling out mid-range splits, with lower tiers receiving 100 Mbps uploads and higher plans offering around 500 Mbps uploads. This situation will likely change soon.
Currently, new uploads are available only in certain regions. To qualify, you need to use the Comcast gateway and have unlimited data. I believe this is due to two factors: 1) Comcast tends to be self-interested. 2) they aim to restrict the number of users on the upgrade process.
