I’ll definitely think about getting an ATX case and a motherboard. I’m still trying to figure out why the RAM failed, since I bought one second-hand kit that came in a magazine. If it worked in the two slots near the CPU, it suggests both RAM channels are functional, which points toward the issue being elsewhere. This weekend I plan to take some photos of the CPU socket so people can see it online. They didn’t take the machine or test anything, but I called them and they told me there’s no way to fix it—just buy an AM4 board with a 3D CPU and be okay. I was really upset when they said that, especially after I mentioned the same thing at the repair shop a month ago. They let me bring the PC over so they can check it out. I’m trying not to replace the CPU, so I’m doing everything to avoid buying a new platform and staying broke. Thanks a lot for your reply!

Channel A holds the nearest positions to the CPU. Channel B contains the farthest slots. Only Channel A is available, meaning you're not using both channels. This setup operates in Single Channel mode. For Dual Channel functionality, you need at least two sticks in slots A2 and B2; refer to the manual for details: https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/M...1bd6eee070

You're correct, that would definitely allow me to use two sticks in the same channel. It could help reach at least 16GB. I'm eager to try it out right away because having more storage would make the PC much better and might eliminate the need for a new motherboard. Hopefully you found the solution! Thanks a lot!

In theory, the best way to understand is by experiencing it firsthand.

It didn't work as expected. I realized that because I can only boot with just one stick in slot A1, I tried fitting the other three RAM sticks there but it still wouldn't start. It could be a problem with the RAM itself. I'm wondering if that's the case. Tomorrow I plan to reinsert the CPU and take photos of everything. I'll contact my local repair shop to test the RAM and see if it's the issue. Also, selling my current RAM and purchasing a new 32GB stick seems like a good option.

I've updated the setup by placing the additional RAM from the 3000MHz kit into the designated slot B1. This should enable dual-channel operation since using one RAM in A1 and another in A2 didn't work before. The system now boots normally and recognizes the RAM. A few adjustments helped: I slightly tightened the socket mount, left some screws looser when installing the CPU cooler (to avoid over-tightening), cleaned the CPU, blew air into the RAM slots, and polished the contact pins. Interestingly, pairing the 3200MHz kit with the original 3000MHz one caused issues even though they worked together before. I'm curious about why this happens now. Thanks for any suggestions!

Thanks for sharing your update. It seems the bent pins aren't the main issue, as the computer is still functioning. The problem might be related to the RAM installation—you installed the CPU cooler backplate incorrectly, which bent the CPU socket. Good news, some progress has been made so far! Keep trying, and let me know if you need more help.

Note that bent CPU pins might influence RAM performance!

Sure, I can share some images of the socket with you. I recently replaced the CPU and captured new photos.

You've captured the images, right? Feel free to share them, and I'll check for any issues in the socket.
