It's unclear whether you're facing a bottleneck or not.

Recently I upgraded my graphics card from a 1050 Ti to a 3050, but it’s still using a lot of power—around 70-85%. Even when adjusting in-game settings higher, the usage stays the same while frame rates drop. Reducing the settings helps a bit, but some games show lower FPS even with lower settings, suggesting a CPU limitation. Compared to the old setup at ultra settings, this is worse; the GPU is busy at about 75% and only averaging around 55 FPS. I’d prefer it nearer to 65 FPS with more efficient usage. It’s not a huge issue, but I’m curious if it’s due to CPU, RAM speed, or maybe a slow hard drive. My specs are: GPU RTX 3050, CPU Ryzen 5 2600, RAM 2x8x2666MHz, PSU around 600W, motherboard Gigabyte B450 AORUS.
You're questioning whether your older hard drive will still perform well.
It varies, but the issue isn't likely the HDD. The problem probably lies with the CPU.
The system runs smoothly on an SSD. I was a bit concerned after the bottleneck calculator suggested the Ryzen could handle the 3050 at full speed, but I wasn’t sure if there was an issue. Could you tell me what you think would be better with a 3600MHz upgrade? Thanks for explaining!
Avoid using bottleneck calculators—they’re often unreliable. It varies by game; some work well while others don’t.
