You could pair it with a Ryzen 5 3600 and see if the motherboard becomes more affordable later. This would help you upgrade your CPU in the future.

Someone believes the B550 will be available by mid-June, making it potentially cheaper compared to the X570.

Unlikely because the X570 chipset is essentially a reused 12 nm I/O die that served as a temporary fix for AMD. It’s significantly more costly to produce than the 55 nm ASMedia chipsets, which raises the overall price of the motherboard.

This ensures the same level of compatibility as the X570, according to official statements from AMD.

PCIE 4.0 lanes also represent a costly approach for x570. The b550 employs a different technique to achieve the same result at a reduced expense, and addressing bugs in this cost-effective method played a significant role in delays. Any strategy they implemented might not effectively reduce the price of x570. The upcoming chipset is likely to offer better value or near-x570 capabilities at a lower cost, making a cheaper x570 less likely compared to the current situation. X570 production remains challenging due to its overall complexity.

Would you like to continue using your B450, since it’s expected to work with B450 and X570 motherboards?
