Looking at the 1620, its low cost doesn’t mean it’s built for today’s gaming needs. It may lack features like high clock speeds or advanced cooling, which could affect performance in modern setups. Make sure you’re comfortable with its limitations if you want a reliable build on a tight budget.

The chip itself isn't the issue, but the motherboard matters. When using Chinese-made boards, ensure they support turbo boost and can handle quad-channel RAM. Performance should be around 3770K or higher.

I suggest a Xeon e3-1250 V2 rather than the e5, as it fits more easily on common motherboards. Affordable B65 boards on eBay are plentiful and budget-friendly.

I tried one of the standard Chinese 2011 boards. It was a bit of a journey into the unfamiliar, but it could use ECC memory which is often very affordable.

I relied on xeon chips for many years, and I observed that xeons deliver strong performance to a certain degree, especially considering their value for money. However, the biggest drawback is that they lack any upgrade options. Changing from a standard CPU to an xeon should be your final decision before upgrading to the next generation.

I created a budget-friendly alternative wherever possible, focusing on affordable options since the user has limited funds.
