Upgrade now. You can revert to a previous version if you're not satisfied, provided you haven't used Windows 10 in the past month.
I encountered a problem that was resolved in the most recent fast-lane insider release. The issue involved Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 outputs through optical connections, which didn't function as expected. I hadn't thought about it before upgrading from 8.1 to 10, so I wouldn't blame anyone for assuming everything would work. Just remember that some things you take for granted might not always be reliable.
th2 is not available (version 1511.10586.29) but there are still options at 10586.11
I've been using Windows 10 for a long time without any problems. Still, I suggest a clean install after upgrading from Windows 7. The old version can leave behind clutter and remnants that slow down your system. Many people attribute performance issues to Windows 10 itself, but a fresh start is often the best solution.
The outdated control interface remains within Windows 10. Click the Windows icon and choose Control Panel...
