I wouldn’t agree with that. i7 and i9 are built for handling multiple threads efficiently. Gaming usually involves a single-threaded process, so neither offers a clear advantage over the other in price-to-performance. By the way, here’s what the CPU looks like during the third round of Cold War Zombies.

The price you'd face for an i7-7700K would be near $300, similar to a new i5-11400 with B560 (about $180 plus $120). The i5-11400 offers superior performance in all aspects.

Certainly. Now I'm weighing the 10,400 versus 11,400 units for the price. Is there a noticeable gap with the newer model that justifies the additional 100 CAD?

Are you located in Canada? Memory Express or NewEgg.ca offer the 11400 for $249 CDN, roughly $199 USD. I believe the 10400 won’t drop significantly more. This price covers the Intel GPU but not the F version. It could be useful later if your GPU fails. Newegg Canada has a solid offer on the 10400F, listed in Canadian dollars. https://www.newegg.ca/p/pl?d=10400F
