For many years, after using various consumer laptops, I settled on a Dell Precision M6800 and stayed loyal. They’re large and heavy, but that’s not important to me. I’m aiming for near-top desktop performance, and moving the machine about 100 times a year to different locations makes it extremely useful. I was hoping to continue with Dell for upgrades, but I realize they might not be the leader in every aspect. Instead, I focus on stability, durability, support, availability of parts, etc. What impressed me was discovering online that I could easily purchase a speaker kit and keyboard for my laptop—something I wouldn’t have done with an older machine.

I want to be clear: I can’t afford replacements, so I’m trying to get as close as possible. Right now, I’m considering the 7750-7760 series. I remember my old setup was packed with features—monitor, CPU, GPU, backlit, etc.—and it was a maze to shop through. My main demanding task is working with CAD/CAM software, which requires a powerful machine.

I’d probably consider buying a 20-inch laptop if one existed! I’ve checked out MSI and others, but I think gamers often settle for specs that don’t match their needs. They tend to focus only on gaming performance while ignoring other aspects like stability and build quality. What I value most in my Dell is its near-impenetrable durability—mostly just avoiding lint buildup and needing a full disassembly to access the cooling components.

I’m asking for guidance so I can make the right choice. Of course, I’ve been using them for years and have no plans to retire this one. It’s a reliable machine that keeps working!

Visit the Dell Outlet location and pick up another Precision model. I've been using mine for about three or four years since around 2007, and I'm really satisfied with it.

My latest unit, the Precision 7560, is extremely reliable and functions well as a dependable machine, even handling games occasionally.

I appreciate it. I looked at the available options and found only the latest 7780, which doesn’t fit my budget. Right now I’m considering 7750 and 7760. For my work, focusing on a 4K display seems sensible. I often struggle to compare Xeon CPUs and their specs feel unclear. I’m trying to gather more details to see if the newer 7760 makes sense.

It's useful to check various periods since their stock levels fluctuate a lot. When I acquired it, it was in perfect condition and included five years of extended warranty. I got it at a much lower price compared to purchasing it brand new.
