Hello everyone!
It's time for another PC upgrade, and I'm seeking your support and suggestions. A few years back, you helped me with advice, and I managed to build a solid setup that has performed well so far. Even BG3 runs smoothly!
My aim is not overly ambitious: stable gaming at 1080p@60. Newer titles are beginning to struggle (Starfield doesn't quite meet the minimum specs for Cyberpunk PL).
I plan to retain as many parts as possible: PSU, GPU, RAM, and SSD.
From what I understand, the main limitation is my CPU (based on Starfield and Cyberpunk needs). So, a new motherboard might be necessary (perhaps with DDR5 support?).
Here are my current specifications:
GPU: Zotac RTX 2060 6GB,
CPU: Intel i5 7500 3.4GHz,
RAM: 4x Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 8GB 2400MHz DDR4 (32GB total),
PSU: VS550,
Motherboard: MSI MS-7A70,
Storage: 1TB SSD,
Case: Deepcool GamerStorm Matrexx 55 V3 ADD-RGB E-ATX Mid-Tower White
I would appreciate any recommendations!
Approximate Purchase Date:
This month/next month
Budget Range:
up to 1k euro
System Usage from Most to Least Important:
Gaming
Do you have a monitor?
No
Components to Upgrade:
I want to keep as many parts as possible: PSU, GPU, RAM, and SSD.
Do I need to purchase an operating system?
No
Preferred Websites for Parts:
any will suffice, I prefer buying locally
Location:
Europe
Parts Preferences:
Intel
Overclocking:
Maybe
SLI or Crossfire:
What?
Your monitor resolution:
1920x1080
And most importantly, why are you upgrading:
CPU bottleneck

How much will you spend?
Where are you located?
Are there any preferred suppliers?

I would replace the PSU, get a more concurrent platform, meaning ram, CPU and motherboard + GPU. FYHI, you should stylize your post akin to this thread; *How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice* How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice First off, respect where respect is due - this is an adaptation of the Animal's *How To Ask For New Build Advice* Sticky. I created this because there's a lot of posts nowadays asking for upgrade advice both on here and on the CPU forums, and I feel... forums. and the community can move forward from there. Edit: scratch the case recycling part, the front is blocked off with that tampered glass front panel.

Thanks for the idea! I've updated my post!
@Lutfij
most things are fine. Right now the GPU is working well, and the plan is to build a solid base platform first, then upgrade it later (MOBO + CPU), followed by upgrading the GPU, RAM, PSU.

What cooling solution are you using for your CPU? Are you drawn to or turned off by liquid cooling options? Given your budget, I believe you could manage a DDR 5 setup. The price gap between a 2 x 16 kit and DDR 4 is likely less than 50 euros. It seems you might be waiting a few months for a new Intel CPU from the 14000 series; it's unclear if you'd like to hold out. The performance boost from such a chip may not be significant compared to the 13000 series.

My current cooler is: Deepcool Gammaxx 400 Universal CPU Cooler XDC-GAMMAXX400
I prefer not to use liquid coolers; the traditional method is simpler and less likely to cause issues.
I’m okay with 13000s if they last a few years of gaming. The previous setup wasn’t great, but it could handle 1080 at 60fps in high settings across all games.
Do you have any recommendations for a motherboard if I upgrade to a 13000?
Also, please check if DDR5 really matters for my needs.
