The situation involved several changes and troubleshooting steps. Initially, the system ran smoothly on an MSI Z390 9900k with a WD Blue SATA SSD M.2 2280 G. Skill 32GB. I upgraded to an Asus TUF Z390 Plus with Wi-Fi d4 12700K, Corsair 32GB RAM, and a Samsung Odyssey G9 monitor at 240Hz. The setup worked perfectly until I encountered issues.
After replacing the SSD, I contacted Asus tech support, but they couldn't resolve the problem. I then upgraded to a new NVMe M.2 SSD from ASUS and installed it successfully. However, the original Z390 board still had issues.
I followed a series of steps: installing graphics cards, connecting peripherals, and troubleshooting with riser adjustments. Despite these efforts, I faced persistent display problems. After consulting Asus via phone, I was escalated to a higher support level but received no resolution.
Eventually, I reassembled the system on a new workbench, using the G9 monitor. Everything functioned correctly this time. When moving it to my desk with a smaller monitor, it worked fine. However, changing the display port cables didn't help.
My final analysis suggests a conflict between the Odyssey G9 monitor and the PCIe X1 lane, possibly due to outdated firmware or BIOS settings. The Z390 board seemed unaffected. This remains unclear, and I'm still trying to understand the root cause.
