The Ryzen 5 5600 runs hot at idle, reaching about 70°C, and overheats during games causing the PC to shut down with an error. Some users suggest using the built-in cooler, but yours overheats regardless. What might be causing this issue?

What is your board and situation? If it's brand new, uneven installation might be an issue. Try removing the cooler, then reattach slowly in an X pattern, turning each screw one at a time.

What temperature is inside your room and what type of case does it use? The stock cooler works well if your case allows heat to escape. If not, a more affordable cooler could be a better choice.

Did you take off the sticker before attaching it? Are you running the newest firmware? Have you connected the cooling fan?

Now it reaches 90 degrees and works better, I played a bit of gaming and it didn’t crash.

Is the cooler warm? Probably because of poor connection.

Did you change the thermal paste? Each time the cooler is removed, the paste needs to be replaced. Otherwise, old paste can trap air between layers, leading to poor coverage and lower temperatures.
