With RAM and storage becoming extremely costly, the entire industry must adjust. Prices for other parts are likely to fall eventually to stay competitive.

It looks like they remain largely unchanged and consistent. There’s no incentive to adjust prices because nothing specific has shifted for them; lowering prices would mean operating at a loss. The only changes expected are in storage, RAM, and GPUs, which will rise or fall accordingly.

As DDR5 costs increased, interest in DDR4 rose again, leading to higher prices for DDR4 motherboards since November. Currently, you find "bundle" offers providing modest savings on components like MOBO and RAM, though these are primarily designed to mask the steep RAM prices.

Beyond individuals who stop purchasing their goods due to financial constraints, wouldn't they be forced to reduce prices if sales drop significantly?

They can actually handle things similar to what @Pusbucket mentioned. It’s true they might choose ddr4 over more expensive options, which means you get a board that works well rather than just cheap deals. Unfortunately, it’s rare for a price drop to become a major selling point or cause another product to rise in value.

In December I looked for the z790 chipset DDR4 board. They were twice as expensive as a month prior since companies announced DDR4 would phase out and DDR5 costs were rising. Now that more folks are opting for DDR4 in new builds, motherboard prices have eased slightly, though locating DDR4 units remains challenging.

You should consider purchasing now if needed, otherwise waiting would be better. It won't become more valuable soon.

What caused the decline in demand? Many assume they only make motherboards for gamers, but that’s not true—they’re selling as much as ever, and it’s just no longer relevant to us. Gamers used to be a tiny part of the tech world anyway; we’re the ones who have to adapt.

I didn’t need anything, but I made a common error by purchasing the cheapest motherboard available at that time. Now I’m looking for an X870 model with more ports. I don’t believe only gamers are interested in it—I think most people aren’t buying it. The main business sector doesn’t really rely on high-end chipsets either.

You’re clear about it—no need for additional ports at the moment. Buying now isn’t the best idea.
