Ensure you have the correct RAM. The blue stick is DDR3, Corsair offers DDR4. They cannot be swapped.

I really don’t want this to come across as harsh, but I think it’s important to mention: the purpose of those notches is to stop people from using incorrect components, and a lack of fit should have been clearly indicated instead of leaving it ambiguous. You seem to have a basic understanding of assembling PCs, which is okay—everyone begins somewhere, and it’s nice that you’re trying and learning. However, struggling with this issue makes me wonder about other potential mistakes you might be making. Please, if possible, ask someone more experienced to review everything before you start building, and avoid pushing things too hard. If you don’t have anyone to consult, consider sharing clear photos so others can help verify your work and prevent any damage.

The board supports DDR3. The latest stick is DDR4, which isn't compatible.

Most everything is designed that way. There's no reason to sound so full of ourselves. We've all tried stuff like that before. That's how you start learning. I can promise you and I both were where OP is at one point.

I aimed to be as clear as possible about the situation, honestly. Not trying to overstate myself, just ensuring he doesn’t waste hundreds of dollars on faulty parts. As I mentioned, everyone needs a starting point. Mistakes happen, but there should be ways to fix them.

from the appearance of the mobo and cpu cooler... this suggests an am3 or at least a ddr3 board, doesn't it? I understand it’s easy to mix up, especially with my old ram sticks, and honestly I’m not sure if they’re ddr2, ddr3, or ddr4... all I know is to keep them away from my computer. My point is, this is what the op will have to handle and then adjust the right ram accordingly.

SE0304 refers to the motherboard model. Intel 1156, DDR3, Dell Vostro 430. Repasting and cleaning the cooler could be beneficial for this setup. DDR3 RAM is required. Here’s the matching RAM link: https://www.amazon.com/Hynix-10600-DESKT...B008J36BCQ. For other regions, I can assist in locating it, or you can search "hynix hmt125u6tfr8c" for compatible options.
