It was incorrect to purchase the next generation?
I'm thinking about it... I'm not sure if buying a build for the next generation is right. DDR4 will be replaced by DDR5 next year, and after just one year there might be a big difference in technology between CPUs, motherboards, and GPUs. What do you think? I'm planning to invest in an expensive build for years, so I'm considering this carefully.
It won't be necessary to swap out your components annually, right? Just wait for Zen 3 and Amperes.
Since I don’t update the components annually, shouldn’t we wait another year? DDR4 is nearing its end of life.
Volume manufacturing of DDR4 won't start until at least 2022, though a nearer launch date doesn't alter the mindset. DDR3 didn't become outdated right away after DDR4 appeared. Speeds for DDR4 are rising steadily, and 3600 MHz is now widely used. Nonetheless, significant advantages haven't materialized yet, meaning DDR5 won't reshape PC gaming.
