Power down the PC and rotate the fan manually with your hand. Do you notice any friction or contact with nearby components?
I can still perceive it, it seems like a grinding sound, and I don’t believe it’s interacting with anything else.
It seems the fan bearing might be damaged or making contact with something. Remove it and check carefully for any object it could be touching. If the central hub is the issue, that’s likely why there’s resistance.
it is the bearing, month old fans. i could put oil on them to try to lossen it. its not rubbing against something i confirmed outside the case.
