1. Play a deathmatch game.
2. Invite friends who enjoy CSGO or add people you liked in MM so you can play together again.
3. Improve your aim for scenarios like arena, deathmatch, HS only deathmatch, etc.
4. Know when to peek strategically.
5. Pay attention to your positioning.
6. Stay friendly while playing MM.
7. Practice flashing and using smoke.
8. Always remember to have fun. I’m just a MG 1/2, but these tips are useful for beginners.
Leading the leaderboard doesn't guarantee your place in the next tier. The system is intricate. Still, don't stress—once you climb up, you'll crave a lower spot again. Edit: I'm Nova 2 with 190 victories.
Maybe you're not doing it right. I believe you need more practice. I play on my smurf and struggle to stay below silver elite when using only a pistol. How often do you participate in deathmatch and aim training? You should keep learning new flash spots and navigating spots, while spending about an hour daily practicing your aim. I'm not very skilled—just know where to peek. I'm Nova 3/4.
Because I'm in college, my schedule is packed with classes and assignments. Trying to play for an hour every day isn't realistic, especially when I also have to compete in other matches.
It doesn’t have to be an hour every day, though a quick warm-up of 10–30 minutes is always beneficial. When you’re ready to play DM, avoid valve DM servers and stick to community ones.
Valve DM feels packed with players chasing the same content, ranging from casual to high-skill. It’s not a top-tier arena so you end up facing fewer fights. Health and ammo don’t regenerate after winning, which means you spend more time reloading and getting respawned. The game runs at 64 ticks but that doesn’t really change much if your focus is just grinding.
