It didn't function properly because the setup wasn't consistent—only about an hour of daily play was enough, and beyond that it caused lag, disconnections, or complete failure to connect with servers.

It seems your ISP might not have it configured properly or you're using the incorrect device to manage CGNatting. We utilize a device named the A10 for our CGNat system. I've assisted businesses that rely on routers or firewalls for their CGNat, such as an ASR1k from Cisco. There could be a bottleneck in the process.

I understand your concern. It seems challenging to enable "open NAT" on that particular setup, as most games work well with moderate or strict configurations, but some require it. I’ve encountered this problem before, though I’m not sure about the solution.

We primarily adopted IPv6 because most games and servers use it, integrating routing rules that favor IPv6 whenever possible. All public IPv6 addresses we assign are publicly accessible.

This also raises some questions. I’ve disabled IPv6 because I experience frequent disconnections or slow connections to the server. With IPv4 it works, but not as smoothly as it did 15 years ago on a 2Mbit DSL line. The same ISP and location are involved. My thought is that to achieve faster speeds they likely had to compromise in areas like routing and latency. No idea, but it seems odd. For you, it’s essentially suggesting switching to IPv6 should resolve the issue—just asking if that’s a viable solution.
