I acquired a refurbished MSI GTX 1060 with 3GB RAM and installed it into an older Omen pre-built motherboard. The system runs smoothly on my Asrock Pro RS Z690. I used the 3070 chipset and updated the drivers for the 1060, but faced driver issues at times. When connecting to Wi-Fi, I encountered flashing warnings followed by a blackout, even though the fan continued to spin. After switching to a different PSU and motherboard, the issue disappeared. I’m currently testing Windows 11 on a blank SSD via USB, but still experience problems with the screen going dark or beeping. I’m planning to update my BIOS once back home.
