My Dell G5 5090 has shut down twice in an hour. The power cut-off happens after a short delay, with music stopping first and then the PSU clicking shortly afterward—likely just a relay click during startup/shutdown. I've had a slight overclock (core +130 MHz, memory +200 MHz) for over 300 hours without issues. Temperatures are normal: SSD stays around 50°C in idle, reaching up to 70°C max, while the GPU can hit 80°C at worst. What might be causing these random shutdowns? A few seconds after each restart it comes back on as if nothing happened. I'll check EventViewer for errors and look for any clues. Thanks for any advice! Regards DreamCat04
It occurs only when the PC is idle and Spotify is running, then it stops playing music and doesn’t restart. Once it turns off, it restarts automatically. The Alienware Command Center won’t launch if you power it on more than three times in a row. Consider a clean Windows install? You want fan control but no fan software should recognize the other fans besides the Alienware command center.
I intend to swap it out even though it’s only been two years because it’s been creating issues. For example, when streaming music via Spotify and the screen goes dark after about 30 minutes, it simply shuts down without a crash. There are also some events appearing in the event viewer, but the memory dump file keeps getting corrupted according to WinDbg.
