Many reviewers noted Ubisoft's improvement this time around. I've received the game and am seeing about 40 fps with a 5820k @4.5ghz and an overclocked R9 290 at 1162mhz on the core. The setup includes Ultra high environment, high textures, shadows, SSAO, and FXAA. Unity's lighting looks great compared to Syndicate's mediocre performance. The anti-aliasing settings are quite poor, especially on the AMD version. I plan to write another review once my second GPU arrives from MSI. Update: I hadn't mentioned earlier that I'm playing at 1440p. FPS isn't terrible—some areas exceed 60, while others drop into the 40s during intense moments. I was expecting better performance since they reduced it significantly in Unity.

I’m limited to 30 frames per second on the simplest options, which means I can’t provide much detail.

Lower the shadows and observe—this often improves performance. I tested it briefly on a heavily overclocked 290X and didn’t encounter any frame rate problems.

On a 290 you’ll likely discover a more optimal mix of adjustments that maintain quality while improving performance. Shadows can often be softened with minimal visual loss. Disable any Nvidia-related tweaks, as FXAA may cause unwanted softness. SSAO is easily adjustable and can be turned off if needed.

It's a brand new system with basic specs. I doubt it will perform significantly better than what's already available. Some say it's not fully optimized... but if you're craving sharper visuals, consider upgrading your graphics card.

You think Ubisoft will handle optimization well? Are you kidding me?

I believe the RAM setup is solid. 16GB DDR4 in quad channel provides ample capacity.

The sole Nvidia card outperforming my setup in the games I use is the 980ti/Titan X (both GM200). I don’t waste $400 just for a single match. I also looked on YouTube and found that the 980ti doesn’t perform very well even when settings are increased.
