The latest Humble Bundle and Humble Store deals clearly show the extent of discounts available. Although this isn’t the first time creators or publishers offered deep reductions, the only previous instance with such extensive cuts was Eidos/Square Enix, which eventually failed shortly after. This remains a guess in my mind, but I wouldn’t be shocked if they faced financial trouble. Of course, these promotions might have contributed to THQ’s downfall. Still, it doesn’t excuse their actions. On the positive side, the Thief reboot seems acceptable to me.

I understand where you're coming from but no. Square Enix is dying but not that soon. Good decade or longer left.

Ten dollars for the package, quite reasonable.

Eidos focused solely on the multiplayer aspects of the latest Tomb Raider game.

These are classic titles that likely don’t move many buyers anymore. It’s a good method to introduce newcomers or those who missed them, while also making some income and supporting charity. It doesn’t mean they’re closing down.

They’ll definitely take it over, I’m just curious about those hidden releases. Even if Square disappears, the IP won’t vanish. Someone will acquire them. Because Squaresoft combined with Enix began producing poor-quality games anyway.

Eidos simply reuses existing assets and creates new versions or sequels, ensuring minimal impact, while Square has been outdated since around 2003, which is a concern.
