psu poses a fire risk, so avoid using the toaster on those. I've seen these psus many times—they've been around for about ten years, and back then they were essentially useless.

Starting from the fundamentals, I believe Moonstick2 and beyondlogic are on the right track. Could you take over a power supply and check if the system functions properly? This should help identify where to proceed with addressing the decoding challenges and improving the setup.
