so i overclocked my gpu using msi ab and upon startup it does open and the oc does get applied but only for a few seconds as the default clocks get applied again, the msi ab stays open though so i have to reapply the oc and this time it stays applied. i think this is because of a conflict with another program i don't understand.

Do you think MSI Dragon Center is essential for you? If you can function without it, just remove it. To stop it from launching automatically, check Task Manager or Startup and disable it there.

Run CCleaner initially, completing both Clean and Registry tasks. Next, disable applications in the startup tray that launch at bootup, opting for those you need only when necessary. Repeat this process with Task Manager/Startup.

Try running CCleaner first, then do the Clean and Registry tasks. After that, disable items in your tray that start at bootup, doing them only when needed. Also check Task Manager/Startup settings. It seems the MSI Dragon Center was the cause of the reset, and now I'm finding a way to disable it.

Is MSI Dragon Center something you really need? If you can get by without it, just remove it. To turn it off from starting with Windows, check if it appears in Task Manager or Startup and disable it there. I disabled it myself—it's really annoying, takes a long time to launch and close, and it was the program causing issues with the afterburner.

when using an Nvidia GPU, many discussions on the GeForce forums revolve around mods that interfere with MSi's Afterburner, leading to driver conflicts. Additionally, there are suggestions to remove and reinstall a previously stable Nvidia driver via DDU, as users report many drivers being unreliable. A relevant thread can be found by scrolling down to the third post, and if you attempt it, follow their DDU instructions carefully—selecting "installing new graphics cards" or similar will provide access to the current driver.
