I unfortunately don't have access to ethernet, otherwise I would definitely be using it. On the Google internet speed test (very scientific I know) my desktop has a download speed of 2.54 Mbps and upload of 1.3 Mbps, while my laptop has 28.8 Mbps and 3.81 Mbps, and my phone (without using data) 21.5 and 3.52 respectively. The issues has only recently begun. I'm using a TP-Link Archer T4E AC1200 network card, but I have no idea how to trouble shoot that. There is currently work going on with my kitchen being ripped out, I doubt this has anything to do with it but hey somebody may tell me the contrary. Any suggestions?

WiFi performance is greatly influenced by your connection quality and signal strength. Your laptop benefits from an antenna positioned inside the screen frame, offering a stronger signal compared to the antennas on your TP card that are enclosed within a metal case. Position your PC so the antennas face directly at the access point or router for optimal reception. Any obstruction in between will weaken the signal.

You can verify the results by cross-referencing with other reliable sources or using alternative testing tools.

Maybe the freezer in your room is influencing the temperature or conditions there.

It depends on the setup. If you connect the device to the router, then yes. Just visualize a line from the antenna to the router and see if it passes through the freezer. Bingo!

It's understandable to feel confused—what seems to matter for one device might not for another. The issue likely depends on how each gadget interacts with the freezer setup.

Several factors influence performance. The antenna's location compared to your PC is one of them. Checking the network center for connection details can reveal the actual speed.
