I just switched my case using identical parts and everything is functioning fine. I decided to run cinebench to check the CPU temperatures. With the BIOS set to default, it only reached 60°C and the fan spun at about 800-900 RPM. After enabling DOCP-1 in BIOS, temperatures jumped to 73-75°C with a 1200 RPM speed (maximum for my Fuma 2 cooler). Anyone know why this difference occurs? Before the case change, I had DOCP enabled and only reached around 63°C with the cooler running at 800-900 RPM. Let me know if you need more details: CPU model, RAM type, cooler brand, etc.

Interestingly, I used the fractal design before, but now I'm sticking to a clean base of 500dx. The temperature changes only when XMP/DOCP is enabled.

The only modification would be if the case was the sole change. @Kilrah suggests your new setup might have suboptimal airflow. Did you use a different chassis before, and which one are you upgrading to?

Also, are you running the 500DX with its default fan settings? Which graphics card are you using?

I positioned the main fan at the front, giving two fans for intake and one for exhaust. The GPU I have is an EVGA 1080 SC.

Airflow needs improvement, particularly when contrasted with your previous setup. Two points stand out. First, the fans in the 500DX model are likely designed for quiet operation and move significantly less air than those in the Define case. Second, during part transfer, handling the motherboard near the CPU cooler might have disrupted contact pressure. You could attempt reapplying paste to the processor and observe the results.

I replaced the CPU cooler during a case swap. It seems unrelated to airflow issues, as the problem only appears with XMP enabled. I ran a BIOS default test using both the old and new cases; the new setup performed better even with the stock BIOS. This suggests the issue is tied specifically to XMP.

I don't understand why it gets warmer when xmp is turned on. Perhaps the memory controller is getting hot? Still, I think the temperatures you're seeing for a 5600x are quite solid—even reaching the 90s with decent coolers. Don't worry too much about the rise in heat; it's not high enough to cause any harm.

I understand, but the small rise of about 15 cents also increases the volume, which is what bothers me the most. Maybe I’ll need to adjust the volume settings or try undervolting, even though I’m not sure how to do it.

There seems to be an issue, but XMP is active and it's running at 60% after testing. I have no idea what I did, but I'm glad it works now!
