For gamers using 1080p, the jump to 1440p offers a noticeable boost in clarity and detail, enhancing the overall visual experience.

There is a difference and you can definately see it. I'd call it noticable. The biggest difference IMO is moving from 1080p to 4K.

It varies with the screen size. The gap between 1440p and 4K isn't noticeable on a 27" screen. Also, losing three-quarters of your frames is significant. On a 27" display, the contrast between 1080p and 1440p is more apparent. I’d suggest 24" or less—1080p works just fine.

1080p works well enough. I keep a 40-inch TV at 1080p for third-person games, and my monitor for first-person games. I’m aiming for 4K, but 1080p still delivers great visuals in The Witcher, GTA and other titles you enjoy.

I noticed 1440p is highly sought after in MMOs with adjustable interfaces, such as FFXIV. It gives you more space to arrange elements without losing quality. You avoid the need for a scaled-down version, which can be inconsistent.
