Steam consistently restarts its initial configuration each time I start AC3. UPlay isn’t storing my data through the cloud either... Do you know why that happens?

Additionally, each time I end the game and attempt to restart it, the app indicates it is already active (I close it via the game interface).

This happens because the Uplay launcher remains active, leading Steam to believe the game is still in progress. In Uplay, you need to press the gear icon and then exit to fully close it.

Navigate to the games install directory and remove all the installers, for instance C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Alien Isolation_CommonRedist. Clear everything there and then launch your game.
