I recently purchased the item from eBay and it’s now connected to my router. I’ve attached a photo of the download, but I’m experiencing significant ping spikes ranging from 60 to 3000. Since it’s an Ethernet cable, I’m unsure why this is happening despite its new condition.

This appears to be an AliExpress Ethernet Cable. I suggest seeking a replacement or refund. Consider a higher-quality option such as Amazon basics or Cable Matters. It's still affordable, but offers better quality assurance.

Are there alternative options available? The images I've noticed are mostly for Cat5 cables.

I'm not after a unicorn offer—just an Ethernet cable priced around 12 pounds that didn’t drop packets. It worked fine without any loss, though it broke when it got squished. I ended up paying a bit more and now it’s causing issues. There’s a clear difference between chasing a bargain and needing something reliable that lasts without drops. I wouldn’t mind a thicker cable, as long as it performs well and doesn’t break easily. Buying quality from a reputable seller would have helped, but the main goal was finding a durable option without packet loss.
