I've been working on fixing a really annoying issue with CS:GO on your wife's new system. It freezes every couple of rounds while loading the map, showing "Retrieving server info." You have to force quit and restart it. I've tried all the common solutions except a full OS reinstall—like updating drivers, updating Windows, checking game files, reinstalling the game, and tweaking startup settings such as disabling D3D9 or HTML Motd. It works fine with other games like Warzone, but CS:GO runs smoothly at over 300 FPS once it loads.

Check the motherboard model and RAM speed. Consider turning off DOCP. If PBO is active, disable it too. Ensure the BIOS is up to date.

Mobo comes from an ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS with Wi-Fi support. The BIOS is current and PBO is turned off. RAM consists of a G.Skill RipJaws V 16GB kit (two 8GB modules) using DDR4-3600 CL16, with the default DOCP profile active and no extra overclocking.

Try skipping DOCP with auto profile for testing only. Adjust timing later. Think about turning off the Asus Armoury crate in BIOS.

I managed to fix the problem by using a combination of " -disable_d3d9ex " startup flag and setting model textures to Low in game. After some additional reading this appears to be a relatively common issue with CS:GO on RDNA 2 cards, AMD seems to be aware of the problem but there's still no driver fix available.
