Another aspect not considered is program conflicts. You face the same problem again with various components. The idea of a wasps nest and a stick came up—leave the nest untouched, but touching it with a stick causes trouble. I’d be keen to identify which two services or programs are active when your issues appear. It’s uncommon, but when XP games or older apps run on newer Windows versions, audio behavior shifted notably after moving to Windows 7 and 10/11. Windows behaves differently in such scenarios. One possible fix is to run those applications in compatibility mode, which helps maintain the correct sound environment for XP.
The weekend was quite active, haha. I managed to allocate some time for running the tests.
I'm sending along a drive folder containing the two log files: one showing the PC under stress and another with the PC in regular use.
It seems the files should display normal measurements, as the lag isn't actually noticeable. Although I have a solid FPS, the performance feels sluggish, especially during any movement or animation on the screen—even on the desktop or in Chrome.
I suspect the GPU and monitor might be the issue.
I suggest using the Macrium software to create images of your system drive. It would be wise to take these images after installing each program, allowing you to revert to earlier states if issues arise and confirm whether the new software is responsible.
Do you have any peripherals you used before?
This might point to a driver problem, often coming from RGB gaming mice or similar devices with overly complex software that can cause issues.
Additionally, after hard crashes, the BIOS sometimes resets itself—check the BIOS settings to see if anything has changed.
Have you already tried this? It can reveal lag in your system and suggest possible causes.
