Upgrading to Windows 10 makes sense if you're comfortable with Windows 7, but consider these factors before deciding. The benefits could include improved performance and new features, while potential downsides might involve compatibility issues or learning a new system.

Choose to upgrade immediately for a fresh setup.
Alternative path: wait 3 months, then upgrade and start over.

Windows 10 has some decent features, though the design changes can be a bit confusing. The white background on the window edges makes it harder to see what you're doing at first, but it becomes clearer with use.

Not unless you own a 32-bit version. I have two PCs—one 32-bit and one 64-bit. The 32-bit one often crashes with BSOD, while the 64-bit runs fine both fresh installations.

I personally liked the look and feel and some of the new features. But I had to revert and refresh my old OS cause it was just too unstable. Though that could be in large part of my beat up installation. On my WD Black HDD, booting into the desktop from the lock screen took significantly more on Win10 than Win8.1 There's really no rush. I would personally wait until Microsoft announces a major patch to deal with all the issues the early adopters found.
