I own a Ryzen 5 1600X with 16GB gaming RAM, a 3AM4 motherboard, and a water-cooled CPU and GPU. I discovered a Ryzen 7 1700X for $100. Would it be worthwhile despite the slight drop in cores and threads for a slower clock speed? You mainly play recent AAA games and stream.

Only useful if you're handling productivity tasks that fully utilize the additional cores; otherwise, the performance gain isn't significant. Running a simple game from 6 to 8 cores doesn't justify the effort.

Playing through streams gains more from a GPU boost via NVENC than from higher resolution settings or CPU streaming improvements.

You're focusing on your stock 1080p 60Hz display. Your equipment should last another year or two. How many frames are you capturing at the moment?
