In fact, the 6700 runs slower than the 3600, and the 4600 offers significantly higher IPC compared to the 6700. It seems performance depends more on core utilization than clock speed.

It really depends on the game you're playing. Upgrading to a Ryzen 5 wouldn't be necessary since the 3700X is significantly better than the 6700. Plus, we're not sure if he has a 'k' in his name.

he mentioned having 6700 units, but i believe the OP isn't familiar with hot to oc, so that number might not push over 4ghz. 3700x delivers comparable performance in games versus 3600, adding 1-2fps. in each game, 3600 outperforms 6700, except where 6700 has an edge on AVX tasks.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm using a different setup, and it's confusing because after launching games like Tomb Raider on 1440p ultra, my system reports high GPU and CPU usage in MSI, but Task Manager shows lower percentages. I don't really know which one is accurate.

The 3600 seems like a decent improvement, but right now I’d hold off another two months until you’re able to secure the 4600 or whatever comes next.
