It depends on your hardware changes. Swapping the motherboard and CPU usually doesn’t require a new Windows copy unless you’re updating drivers or changing the OS version.

You can turn it on if needed, though it works without activation. You might also find a gray market W10 Pro key for $5.

It varies. For Windows 10, automatic updates handle new hardware without issues. With Windows 7 or earlier, consider reinstalling for better performance.

Ensure the hardware update aligns with the operating system for optimal performance. Although Windows 10 handles this well, it may not fully utilize your device's capabilities. A complete reinstall becomes necessary if there are significant component changes. Failing to do so could lead to driver compatibility problems and other issues.

Ensure your Microsoft account has the correct key attached. Alternatively, you can try using the previous key to reactivate it. If needed, contact Microsoft through their phone system for a seamless transition at no cost.

You're right, it's faster to just grab another key. I assumed it was connected to your motherboard.

Now you can link it using your Microsoft account for easy transfer. I believe there’s a cap on the number of moves unless it’s a retail key, but I’ve successfully reactivated hardware multiple times with no issues.

It looks like you've got a lot of W10 Pro keys linked to your account. That's pretty common. Just remember to keep them safe!
