At first, I ran some tests on my PC using an AIDA64 Extreme stress test for about an hour. The temperature stayed around 89-90°C, which is high but not unusual for gaming. After three months, during another test at full usage, it dropped to 68-71°C. I wondered if AMD had updated the chip and how this was possible. I heard phones get hot when they're first used, but I wasn't sure about desktop CPUs either. The cooling system uses a Cooler Master ML240 V2 case with strong airflow. I didn’t adjust anything else, and it was summer when I got the PC, though I had an AC at home. Recently switching to Windows 10 also changed things.
It's nearly impossible to determine accurately without visualizing Power (Watts) and Clockspeed together, both in the past and present. Otherwise, we'd have to rely on assumptions.
Did you relocate your PC to a location with improved ventilation? What is the current room temperature? There could be additional factors affecting this reading.
My room isn't at a steady temperature, it's around 22 degrees Celsius. If I had to estimate...
I expected several assumptions to be made. PBO on or off matters too. Once we have a complete load test with readings of temperature, clock speed, and power in watts before and after, it would give us clear answers right away.
